Is your dog happy

i saw him barking a song on chhat
buddhi dadi amma calls him kambakkhat
he never lends ears to her
he sings and sings until his throat swells like that of a bear

Dog met cat
and explored her through a long chat
buddhi dadi amma felt a jhatka
As dogs are supposed to give cats a Patka
This time Dog liked the cat's innocence
her eyes were full of benevolence 

she was not jhagdalu
and in dadi's dimag there grew a shaq ka aaloo
she became suspicious on Dog's dil
when she saw a long telephone's bill

They both went out together
and buddhi dadi amma made a plan for them to surrender
for them she arranged a party
on the auspicious day of rakhi

Dog's heart stopped working
while cat developed the habit of drinking
Now dog barks only sad songs
and dadi gives him taal with a pair of Tongs..

ग़म है तो बस इतना....

कवि हूँ आज भी
कल भी था
और परसों भी रहूँगा
गिला तो बस इस बात की है
कोई सुनता नहीं है अब मुझे
तब भी न सुनता था
और आगे भी न सुनेगा ..
